Pinched from Fuzzy Nerd. Write a short story starting with the words "you won't believe this but". I am somewhat nervous about this, and I've been faffing around attempting to do it for far too long so let's just see how this turns out. Also let it be known that double beds are far too comfy and that I need one all for myself when I move out because it's really nice having room to move in bed without punching a wall or headbutting a drawer. You wouldn't believe this, but neither would most people. It seems like the improbable, the impossible even. Not the kind of thing that you'd know straight off. With one look into those jade green eyes, to just know that you'd met before, in much less savoury circumstances. The toss of her head that is so familiar. Seen in someone else. Seen in yourself, your mother, your sister. My heart skipped a beat and I wondered for a second if that flowing dark hair and lightly browned skin really did come from me. Doubt set in and I turned away, she looked old enough. The perfect age and so much like my sister. Her aunt? Absurd. And yet I couldn't stop myself looking back. Just to catch her staring, a look of shock worn upon her face for just a second before curiousity took over, and then she turned back. And with that I was certain. I was satisfied, and not wanting to ruin the moment, I simply continued with the task at hand. Just blissfully satisfied. |
